Solar power in Vietnam is part of an emerging energy industry that follows the global growth of renewable energy, while also meeting the country’s energy needs now that large hydropower resources are fully exploited and small hydropower brings benefits that no longer outweigh its environmental impact. Vietnam also has great solar and wind potential thanks to its proximity to the equator, a coastline of more than 3,000km and dry, sunny regions such as the South Central Coast. Solar and wind power are therefore being encouraged by the State.
Solar and wind are the largest renewable sources we can harness in daily life and production. They are clean, abundant, reliable, practically inexhaustible and available everywhere. Using them generates no emissions or toxic wastewater, helping to fight pollution and the greenhouse effect – one of governments’ greatest concerns today.
Contributing to the country’s development, Dong Anh Manufacturing Electrical Equipment JSC (DONGANHMEE) has supplied 110kV transformers running stably on the grid for projects such as Mui Ne, Son My, Vinh Tan, Jang Pong and VNECO – Vinh Long solar plants and Tan Thuan wind farm.
