MEEPOWER MAKES ITS MARK ON THE SONG CAU 110KV SUBSTATION UPGRADE
110kV-63MVA transformer energized and key construction works completed
On 3 August 2025, MEE Power Transformer Manufacturing JSC (MEEPOWER) worked closely with units of Northern Power Corporation (EVN-NPC) to successfully energize the 63MVA-110kV transformer of the Song Cau 110kV substation capacity upgrade project, Bac Giang. This is a key EVN-NPC project, with the Northern Grid Project Management Board acting as the investor’s representative.
The project is more than an equipment upgrade – it is a strategic step serving the socio-economic development of the North-East region, where Bac Giang is rapidly industrialising. Strengthening transmission capacity helps secure a stable power supply able to meet the growing demands of industry, commerce and households.
Beyond manufacturing, supplying and installing the 63MVA-110kV transformer, MEEPOWER also delivered several important construction items of the project, including:
– Casting a 6-metre-high concrete fire wall to improve separation and operating safety;
– Renovating the power transformer and disconnector foundations to ensure a solid structure for the transmission equipment;
– Upgrading the power and control cable trenches to improve consistency and optimise operation;
– Relocating the station service transformer to a more convenient position for operation and maintenance;
– Upgrading the fire protection system to improve incident response and ensure absolute safety for the whole substation.
Despite the harsh summer weather, the MEEPOWER team worked non-stop, showing great dedication and professionalism. Every item was carried out methodically under strict quality control, on schedule and in full compliance with technical and safety standards.
